STAAR testing is starting tomorrow and to help students prepare, McDonald’s restaurants of North Texas will continue its STAAR Free Breakfast program. McDonalds will be offering free breakfast to 3rd – 8th grade students and teachers on Tuesday, April 9 from 5:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Students can choose from an Egg White Delight McMuffin Sandwich or Fruit and Maple Oatmeal, Apple Slices, and their choice of one percent low-fat milk or Honest Kids organic apple juice. Teachers aren’t left out! They can receive this free breakfast offer too with a valid school identification card. In 2018, over 20,700 breakfasts were given to students and teachers as a result of the STAAR Free Breakfast program, averaging 63 per restaurant.
In addition, May 6-10 is the Lunch Bunch/Teacher Appreciation Week. To celebrate, McDonald’s of North Texas will partner with Dallas, Fort Worth and East Texas City Moms blogs to host a special Lunch Bunch event at restaurants in Dallas, Fort Worth and Tyler, Texas. Local teachers, faculty members, and parents are invited to attend and mix and mingle with one another in a casual setting. Additionally, guests will be encouraged to bring school supplies that will be donated to local schools.
