One unexpected highlight of Off The Rails Country Music Fest was having Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl Center Travis Frederick join us on stage to talk about his “Block Out Hunger” Foundation. Travis told the crowd that the mission of “Block Out Hunger” is to provide support for inner-city and low-income children throughout Metro Dallas who struggle with hunger.
Travis hosts a variety of events each year to help raise money for his charity…The next event is May 14th at Top Golf in the Colony for the Travis Frederick Golf Challenge.

Most of us know the story of how Travis has been sidelined this past season with Guilain – Barre Syndrome which is a rare autoimmune disorder that causes the body’s immune system to attack it’s nerves. Travis is upbeat about his prognosis and says he feels great but won’t know for sure if he’s back to 100% until he gets to Cowboys Training Camp.
It’s just special to see an athlete who has struggled with his own illness this past year trying to help others without complaining about his own condition. Plus, Travis is a big country music fan. We don’t always here about Dallas Cowboys doing great things to help others in the community so congrats Travis Frederick and best of luck in the future! Thanks for being a source of inspiration for us all!
