Garland’s Kicks Off Christmas On The Square Thursday

The City of Garland kicks off Christmas on the Square and flips the switch on its giant tree this with a free family festival on Thursday, Dec.  5. With a choreographed display of 100,000 twinkling lights, Garland’s historic downtown square will be one of the most colorful and eye-popping spots to welcome the season.  In addition to the tree lighting, the “Christmas on the Square” kick-off will feature snow hills to slide down, choir performances, food vendors, an appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  It’s all capped off by fireworks adding even more sparkle to the scene.


Thursday, Dec, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

  • Tree lighting at approximately 7 p.m.
  • And nightly through Dec. 31.
