Smokey, weekdays 10am - 3pm

With almost 30 years of broadcasting behind me, I can honestly say that working here at The "original" Wolf has been my biggest honor.  You and I have been at the launch of nationwide careers for Texas friends like Pat Green, Jack Ingram and Miranda Lambert.  Plus, we've helped countless lives with the millions of dollars we've raised together for great organizations like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Tarrant County Food Bank, The American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.   But we can't rest yet.  Now, more than ever, give your money, your time and your heart.  All are needed right now.

Please accept my humble thank you for making your Wolf....America's Most Listened To Country station.  Over 1,000,000 of you spend your workday with me each week and it's great to have you as a co-worker.  By the way...I'm not the one that stole your lunch from the break room fridge...really.

No matter what the news says...Stay positive!  Remember, whether you think the glass is half full or half empty....just be thankful you have something in your glass to begin with.

I came across this quick article and thought it was a perfect reminder for all of us to "control what you can control."  Most of what we see in the media about our current recession is about things that we can't do anything about.  Here are five things we can do to help us stay employed....enjoy!

Keeping Your Job in a Bad Economy

By Antoine Rafiel

Visibility is key. One common mistake I notice is people don't want to be noticed. Think about it this way; why would your boss lay you off if he knows exactly what you have accomplished for him. It's nothing for your boss to lay off someone they don't know.

Credibility. Make sure you stand out as a hard worker on your team. Do tasks on your own without having to be micro managed. This is sure to keep you noticed in a good way and maybe even a promotion.

Productivity. It all comes down to how productive you are. When others are getting laid off around you; you need to be the most productive. And yes hard work does count but it doesn't matter if you are the hardest worker. It's the results that count. You need to do your work better and faster than everyone else.

Optimism. Do you come into the office every morning with a frown on yourself just counting down the hours until you can go home? If you do you may be putting your job in jeopardy. Nobody likes a "Debby Downer". Fact is your boss likes people who are a little but not too upbeat. They love someone who can encourage the rest of the team to do well. A happy team is a productive team. If this is you; you may be an invaluable member of the team.

Network and Marketing. How many people do you know outside of your department? Most jobs are filled from within the company. Also; do you dress for success or are you coming into work everyday with the same wrinkled slacks and off white shirt. If you want be successful you have to dress successful.

The thing is; these 5 tips aren't necessarily going to secure your job, but will give you a better chance. With these economic times any leg up on the competition will help.
