Taylor Swift and Zac Efron visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday for their only interview together regarding their new film Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Ellen repeatedly joked that the two were a couple, since the tabloids won’t seem to let go of the story. Taylor stressed she understands co-stars fall in love during filming but not “animated movie co-stars.” In fact, the two actually recorded their voiceovers on two different coasts. Zac also mentions he “got his first guitar lesson from Taylor.” The two played their own rendition of Foster The People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” on for Ellen, with a verse they made-up on the spot about Ellen. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax debuts in theaters next Friday.

For years, the St. Patrick's Day Parade has been a Dallas tradition on Greenville Avenue, but this year's parade has been in doubt to do a budget shortfall. The Greenville Avenue Area Business Association was short $40,000 and needed someone to step up and donate the money to cover the cost of security, barricades and cleanup. Someone did yesterday, and that someone was Mavs owner Mark Cuban. Cuban wrote a check to cover the $40,000 and wrote another check to the DISD scholarship fund for $25,000. The scholarship is normally funded every year through the parade's revenue.

The 2012 Westminster Dog Show wrapped up last night, and the big winner was a tiny dog. Four year old, Malachy the Pekingese, was the star at Madison Square Garden, going home with the coveted Best in Show award. Weighing in at just 11 pounds, Malachy has made his way to the top becomming the first Peke to win since 1990 and just the fourth time ever. Co-owner and handler, David Fitzpatrick says the dog is likely headed for retirement in Pennsylvania now, where he will chase squirrels and be pampered. Other dogs in the final group were a Dalmation, a German shepherd, a Doberman pinscher, an Irish setter, a Kerry blue terrier and a wire-haired dachsund.

Plan a staycation! rent a hotel for the weekend and have a mini vacation. Stay on a different side of town than you live and enjoy all the food, bars and attractions in an area you’re not used to. Surprise your loved one by telling them to ‘pack a bag’ and then drive them to a nice hotel 30 minutes away!
Book a couples massage! You can both reap the benefits of a surprise on Valentine’s Day. Find a spa that offers couple massages or even a full-day spa excursion for you both. It’ll make them feel nice and relaxed as well as keep your wallet from drying out. Skip the spa, make your own massage! After a nice dinner (cooked by you, of course) pamper your babe even more with a personalized massage. Use scented oils or lotions and take the reigns as the professional masseuse. We make no promises they won’t want a massage all the time after this, though!
Serenade Them! Okay, you might be reading this like "WTF" but seriously! Surprise them by acting out their favorite romantic comedy movie scene. Or be goofy. Or loving. Or dramatic. They’ll be so amused and happy, they can’t help but love an awful performance.
Clean the house. Sometimes it’s the little things. If your significant other works 50 hours a week and never has time to themselves at night because they’re stuck cleaning, now’s your time to shine! Clean the house from top to bottom, light some scented candles and have a bowl of popcorn and a movie ready when they walk in the door. Place perfume or rose petals on the sheets. Turn the mood a little more sultry by surprising your love with a special and romantic bedroom setting. Lead them to the bedroom with a trail of rose petals or other flowers.
Let the night be all about them! Finally watch that movie you’ve been putting off having to sit through, enjoy their favorite meal, bring their favorite hobbies to life for the night. Make the night be everything they’ve always talked about wanting to do but never have been able to. They’ll be beside themselves with excitement that you knew so much about them.

Dolly Parton’s new movie Joyful Noise is in theaters this weekend. The iconic country singer stars as "G.G. Sparrow," a feisty, blonde with a passion for singing and leadership. Dolly says her role doesn’t stray too far from her real-life personality. "The character is very similar to my own person. Todd Graff, who wrote the movie, he patterned it after my personality. So, he tailor-made it, but it’s still a different character. But, the movie is good, very uplifting...a lot of great gospel music. I got to write four of the songs." Joyful Noise also stars Queen Latifah and opens this weekend

It's a tradition many of us take part in every New Year's Day, but most of us really have no idea why. People all across the country, especially in the South, eat black-eyed peas every New Year's Day for good luck for the next year. So how did this tradition start? Well, legend has it, the tradition started during the Civil War when General Sherman marched through Georgia burning towns and destroying food.
