Miranda Lambertās record-streak of six CMA Female Vocalist of the Year wins came to an end last night (Nov. 2) as Carrie Underwood reclaimed the top spot.
Carrie, who won the award three times from 2006ā2008, has been nominated in the category every year since 2006, but sheās been on a bit of a winning drought, losing to Taylor Swift in 2009 and Miranda from 2010ā2015.
In 2016, Carrie would not be deterred. Her Billboard No. 1 album, Storyteller, yielded No. 1 singles āHeartbeatā and āChurch Bells,ā as well as No. 2 āSmoke Break.ā And if youāre seen her Storyteller Tour: Stories in the Round, you know why she got nominated for Entertainer of the Year too.
Miranda, on the other hand, had a relatively quiet year as she worked on her upcoming album, Weight of These Wings, which will drop on Nov. 18.
