Amazon is looking for a location for their second headquarters, Amazon has headquarters in Seattle but they are looking for new space. The company said they plan to build $5 Billion building a second headquarters which will bring 50,000 jobs to North America. Amazon.com employs 20,000 people in Texas, currently building a third fulfillment center in Coppell and another one in Katy, TX Amazon bought Austin-based Whole Foods Market. All these ties in Texas would be a great option to build in the Lone Star State.

CEO and Founder of Jeff Bezos’ grandfather had a cattle ranch in Cotulla, Texas and as a kid, Bezos spent 10 summers working on the ranch. Fun Fact: His cousin is George Strait. That’s right!!

Amazon released requirements for the new site:
- An international airport within a 45-minute drive
- Existing buildings of at least 500,00 square feet or open land of 100 acres
- A highly educated tech workforce
- A strong university system
