Gov. Abbott Loosens Restrictions For Schools’ Online-Only Instruction

Governor Greg Abbott announced today that school districts in Texas will be allowed to extend online-only learning past the first three school weeks of the year.

This news makes things easier for parents and teachers who are concerned about classes filling up as the COVID-19 continue to increase across the state.

Some districts have pushed back the start date for classes to have more time to prepare for a hybrid model of learning where some students are online while others attend in person.

The Texas Education Commissioner is expected to make an announcement in the coming days to give more flexibility to schools across the state.
