Carly Pearce picked up four nominations at the upcoming CMA Awards on Nov. 11. In addition to earning a nomination for New Artist of the Year, Carlyâs duet with Lee Brice, âI Hope Youâre Happy Now,â is nominated for Song, Musical Event and Video of the Year. The tune topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart in June.
Carlyâs new single, âNext Girl,â is currently No. 48 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart after six weeks. Penned by Carly, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, the single represent Carlyâs first new music without producer busbeeâwho passed away in September 2019âby her side. It also represents Carlyâs first new music since her divorce from Michael Ray after less than a year of marriage.
â2020âs been interesting, but I think that there are beautiful moments,â says Carly. âAnd for me, something thatâs been a beautiful constant thing for me during this hard year has been music. Itâs been country music and getting to create country music and then to be recognized in such a huge way. I love country music and it has saved my soul, and [the CMA Awards] is just another way that it continues to save me and make me realize who Iâm supposed to be and what I want to do in life.â
