Back in 2014 a case was filed by a Pennsylvania man who wanted to see the movie ‘Gone Girl’ and requested Cinemark to have an interpreter for him, however his request was denied and then began the lawsuit. The Philadelphia-based 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Cinemark, and ruled that interpreters are covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The interpreters cost a few hundred dollars per showing. Cinemark said prior to the lawsuit, they have never received a request for tactile interpretation.
