Dallas Holiday Parade Faces Cancellation Due to Funding

As reported by WFAA,  the Annual Dallas Holiday Parade might not happen this year.  Why?  Money and lack of Corporate Sponsors.  For 30 years the Holiday Parade marches on Downtown Dallas but this years the floats, dancers and bands might be halted.

Jeffrey Giles, head of HTE Dance and Spirit Group said,  “It’s like how do you cancel Christmas?” Giles said. “How does one cancel something like that?

Organizers need to raise an additional $347,000 for security, insurance and cleanup by Monday afternoon, the parade will be canceled.   MORE STORY:  HERE 

For nearly 30 years, it has meant the start of the holiday season for hundreds of thousands of people.
