Congratulations go out to Taylor Swift who is now the proud owner of her entire creative catalog.
Back in 2019 industry executive Scooter Braun‘s Ithaca Holdings bought Taylor’s masters from Big Machine Records. Some reports then said that Taylor also tried to buy them, but was thwarted. The masters were purchased by Shamrock Capital a year later, and they recently came to her with an offer to sell.
She shared the new on her social media and website where she wrote a letter thanking them for supporting the Taylor’s Version of her re-recorded projects and her Eras tour, which made it all possible.
The purchase price has not been disclosed. Taylor is saying it was exceptionally fair. In her letter, she also says that Shamrock handled the transaction honestly, fairly and respectfully. Estimates thrown around in the past few weeks hover in the $500 million range.
