Carrie Underwood kicked off the Sunday Night Football game on the first week of the season â which is Carrieâs 9th year of doing so.
Carrie loves being associated with the sport, which she says is pretty ingrained in her, âI love being the voice of Sunday Night Football because I grew up watching footballâŠfrom birth. Iâm from Oklahoma â weâre a football state.â
Carrie loves the way fans get so involved with the weekly game, and her intro, âEverybody has their teams and thereâs such an energy about it. You have your favorites. They have their rivals. Thereâs an excitement to it that really, itâs unlike anything else, so being a small part of that is absolutely amazing. Itâs been so wonderful working with everybody at SNF, and I count myself very lucky and very blessed that I get to be a small part of something that Iâve loved my whole life.â
While Oklahoma does not have its own NFL team, Carrie remembers heading south to Texas to watch âDem Boys live and in-person, âWe would drive down to Dallas and watch the Cowboys play whenever we could. Thereâs just something about being at a live sporting event or watching it on TV.â
The wait is finally over. Sunday Night is here.
