The 56-year-old country star underwent surgery in March 2025 to implant a baclofen pump aimed at easing muscle spasticity, though his balance and mobility remain difficult. Despite the rough patch and visible struggles on stage, Walker remains determined and optimistic, crediting physical therapy and small progress like walking unassisted on a treadmill for hope. Celebrating nearly 30 years of living with MS, Walker is embracing his journey with resilience, describing himself as “like a pit bull” who refuses to give up, finding joy and energy in performing while acknowledging MS as the difficult cross he must bear. “MS has been a journey and some of it has been pretty rough, but I’ve started to turn the corner,” Walker shared, while adding, “My joy comes from being on stage.” (People)
