Due to ongoing health issues, Dolly Parton will miss the Governors Awards ceremony in November, where she was to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Parton recently revealed that she will need to have “a few procedures” done, which have also forced her to postpone her December Las Vegas residency concerts until September 2026. The 79-year-old country icon was set to be presented with an Oscars statuette for the award, which honors “an individual in the motion picture arts and sciences whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry by promoting human welfare and contributing to rectifying inequities.” Parton, a two-time Academy Award nominee for Best Original Song, was announced in June as one of this year’s four recipients alongside Tom Cruise, Debbie Allen, and Wynn Thomas.
