  You ate a Crystal’s Pizza & Spaghetti

If you were a kid in the 70’s and 80’s you remember eating at Crystal’s it was well-known for the place for birthday celebrations, first location in Irving.  Closed February 2013

 

When Going to the Mall was Cool, and the Malls were cool

You still remember the great malls of DFW like  Red Bird,  Valley View, Town East and childhood memories for you, hangin’ out with your friends.

 

 

3.     You Remember Mr. Peppermint

“Peppermint Place” was a local kids show that was filmed & aired in Dallas from 1975–1996

 

 4.    You Remember Reunion Arena

If you grew up in Dallas as a kid you absolutely went to a concert at Reunion Arena because the biggest names in music played Reunion Arena and so did the Dallas Mavericks until 2001 when American Airlines Center was built.

 

5.  The State Fair of Texas is A Must

Either it’s a tradition or you fond memories of the time you were a kid,  State Fair of Texas means Midway, Fried Food and of course, Big Tex saying  ‘Howdy Y’all’

 

6.   You remember when the Dallas Cowboys were in the Super Bowl

Flashback:  Back to Back win 1992, 1993 and then again in 1995.  You recall the madness when  400,000 people showed up in Downtown Dallas showed up for the Super Bowl Parade.

 

7.   Texas Rangers of the 90’s

Do you remember the favorite players were Rusty Greer, Nolan Ryan, “Pudge”,  Charlie Hough,  Buddy Bell  and Steve Booooooo-shell

 

8.  You remember when Dallas had one area code 214;  easy wasn’t it?

There was a time when you didn’t have to ask for area,  1995 there was a change to area outside of Dallas Business district and 972 then 469 and 682 . . .

 

 

 

9.    Bronco Bowl

This was a great place to see bands, or for  bowling, billiards, arcades and a concert hall. Closed for good in 2003

 

10.  The Texas Giant

Seriously,  It was a big Deal, The wooden roller coaster opened in 1990,  closed in 2010 for renovations and April 2011 the ‘New’ Texas Giant reopened but some of us remember the old wooden tracks. . .  what were we thinkin’
