Mark Phillips

Hi!  What do I think you’d like to know about me that hopefully won’t bore you?

I’m married and my wife Heather and I have a beautiful  4 1/2 year old son named Austin Cole!  I never knew how having a child could make you feel like your life really has a purpose.

Did you grow up in Texas?:

I get asked that a lot.  No, I grew up in Fairfield, Iowa a small town full of great people.  Iowans are down to earth, friendly people just like most Texans are and I’ve had family that lived here in Texas all my life so it’s always felt like home.  It was always my career dream to move to Dallas/Ft. Worth and work at the Wolf.  It just took me 25 years in the radio business to accomplish that goal!

What do you do when you’re not working?:

Sleep!  Anyone with a small child can relate to that.  I’m a Christian and my wife and I are proud members of Irving Bible Church.  I also started playing guitar about 4 years ago(most radio personalities are frustrated musicians) and I need a lot of practice but I hope to someday perform at Wolf 12 Man Jam.  Like a lot of you, I love to go to concerts and occasionally go to Cedar Creek Lake when I get a chance.  I also love the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavs, Stars and the TCU Horned Frogs.  I’m also still loyal to the Iowa Hawkeyes sports teams!

Have you ever done other jobs besides Radio?:

Yes!  Believe it or not I was a Field Artillery Officer in the U.S. Army for three years at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.  Hard to believe they’d trust a guy like me with nukes!
